Frequently Asked Questions

This page should answer any questions you may have after looking through our website. If your question still isn't answered after reading this, please reach out via our contact methods!

Q. What is Sourdough Discard?

A. This is what is pulled from the wild yeast sample when feeding it. You take out half of the sample and re-feed it with fresh ingredients. The half you take out becomes "discard" and instead of actually discarding it, you save it in the refrigerator to make many other foods!

Q. Are your baked goods Gluten Free?

A. No, the base of the sourdough starter is not made from Gluten Free flour. However, some say the longer fermentation process of sourdough helps break down the gluten for easier digestion but if you have Celiac disease, air on the side of caution and do not try this.

Q. What is the best way to communicate with you?

A. Please send us a direct message on Facebook or Instagram. You can also send an email or fill out a form on this website. We will get back to you at our earliest convenience.

Q. Where do you have your goods for sale?

A. Starting in the Spring, we have our goods at our Farmstand on Cold Brook Road in Homer, NY. We also bring our baked goods to Truxton Outpost in Truxton, NY on Fridays. Please make sure to follow our Social Media to be up to date on when our products are restocked.

Q. Do you ship?

A. No, we are not able to ship food and are not currently shipping skincare.

Q. Do you deliver?

A. Yes, egg delivery fee is $2 and baked good fee is $5.

Q. Is the Tallow grass-fed?

A.Yes! We source our beef fat from local farms where livestock are strictly on a grass diet for the duration of their life.

Q. â€‹Is the Beeswax from your homestead?

A. Not yet, but this is an upcoming project that we are looking to add to the Homestead! We are currently sourcing it from other local beekeepers.
